STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

 

I am an Associate Professor. I have been associated with the Department of Commerce (CHRIST Deemed to be University) from the past 13 years, having the overall teaching experience of 25 Years. I worked in the Oxford College of Business Management for 12 years and I have taught students from   Business Management, Accounting for Nursing students, Pharmacy Students, Diploma Students. I have an experience of handling highly immature studtens to highly matured students.  I have a great passion for teaching. I have been handling subjects like Cost Accounting, Financial Management, Management Accounting, Research Methodology, Business Law, Indian Financial System, International Financial System, Project and Operations Management for both UG and PG Classes. I have been supervisor for M.Phil. Scholars. 

  I have been a resource person on different occasion in different institutions talking on the Research Methodology and Faculty Development Programme.  I have participated in numerous workshops, seminars and presented papers in national and international conferences. I have worked on a Minor Research Project on the topic “Cultural Dissonance among the International Students”. Presently I am working on a Major Research Project titled “Efficacy of Women Entrepreneurs Schemes in the state of Karnataka and Tamandu. 

I am interested in joining this course because I feel Research is the most important component which helps in enhancing our knowledge and developing confidence in delivering our lectures. Research is also the most demanding factor in all the educational institutions. It is also framed in the New Education Policy to give importance to Research in multi-dimensional approach. I am working hard in the area of research, but I am not able to get the hold of publications in reputed journals. I am sure that this 60 hour would be real learning and I would get the art of Research and Publications with the support of Centre for Research.

The course is about Research and Publication covering Journal Publishing, Article Publishing, Academic Collaborations   and many more intricate details about  how to focus on Indexing, Indexing Agencies, Review Methods, open Access Publications, Article Submission, the process, Ethics in publishing and more.  I understand the efforts taken by the Centre for Research to guide us with Research and publications. I am aware of the commitment. I assure that I will   not miss the sessions. In case of any emergency, I shall keep you Informed. Looking forward for a great Learning.

What is in Number?

  What is in Number? Yes , there is   lot expressed in Numbers. A number indicates/represents a reality. It is measuring the yardstick. Though number is giving only the quantitative measure which does not take into account the quality aspect, but still numbers play a major role in many contexts. most of the research work and their conclusions are based on the statistical inferences which are purely numbers. The application of numbers in research is numerous. It is used to measure the validity of the questionnaire, which conveys that the items in the questionnaire when using Cronbach Alpha should be consistent and should be above 0.7. if this number is not met, it is an indication that there is a need to change some questions or some questions to be eliminated.
